How PoolBuilderHQ started

PoolBuilderHQ didn't start in a boardroom — it started on a job site. We grew up around the pool business, watching our parents run their operations the way the trade always had: a clipboard in one hand, a phone in the other, quotes scribbled on whatever was nearby, and the schedule living mostly in someone's head.

We loved the work. But we kept thinking the same thing — yikes, there has to be a better way. So we set out to build one. Not as a product at first, just as the tool we wished we had: somewhere to keep our own leads, quotes, builds, and customers in one place instead of scattered across spreadsheets and group texts.

It worked. Running our own jobs on it, we were faster, more organized, and honestly more professional than we'd ever been. The homeowners noticed. Our crews noticed. We used it to grow — and it kept paying us back.

It was friends in the industry who pushed us to share it. We handed it to a couple of builders we trusted, and when they fell in love with it the same way we had, we knew we were onto something bigger than our own shop. The thing we'd built to save ourselves was solving the exact same headaches for everyone else in the trade.

That's how PoolBuilderHQ became a product: still built by people who've actually run pool jobs, for the people who run them every day. And we're just getting started.
